Going to Budapest this past summer was the best decision ever, because I fell in love with Hungary’s national dish: goulash. This hearty stew is full of spices [mainly paprika], vegetables, slices of tender meat, and Hungarian dumplings, which makes it the poster-child for comfort food in Europe.

Despite Eastern European countries having a bad reputation because of their history of war and economic struggles, I think they are some of the coolest countries to visit. I added Romania to my tournament schedule because 1. I wanted to experience a new culture/country. and 2. I was running out of days in my 90-day period for Schengen countries [Romania is not part of the Schengen Area].
